Grigor Dimitrov left the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai after being defeated by the Frenchman Richard Gasquet 2-6 4-6. Grigor had a weak first set with too many errors and the service not at good level. This lead to Gasquet winning the first set 6-2 in 26 minutes. Dimitrov was better in the second set but could not break when he was leading 4-3. The Frenchman took his service game 4-4 and then succeeded to break to 5-4. Then easily took his service game to win the set and the match.
Grigor Dimitrov will not play for the Bulgarian national team in the tie against Belarus next week for Davis Cup. Instead he will take part in the 42'500 EUR ATP Challenger in Cherbourg, France where he would be Seed 1.
