Grigor Dimitrov is among the seeded players of the ATP 500 tournament in Washington, D.C., and will start directly from the second round. The possible opponent of Dimitrov will be decided between Rajeev Ram (USA) and Xavier Malisse (Belgium). Ram, rank 106, won all the 3 matches against Dimitrov so far, the last one at the qualifications in Cincinnati Masters in 2012. Malisse defeated Dimitrov in Bucharest last year while Dimitrov took revenge at Monte Carlo Masters earlier this year.The first seeded player Dimitrov could meet is Sam Querry, No 20. The first round matches are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday and the second round match of Dimitrov is expected to take place on Wednesday.
The Bulgarian has to defend 35 ranking points from the participation at the London Olympics last year while win in the second round would bring him 45 points.
With Michael Llodra of France, Grigor Dimitrov will enter also the doubles tournament in Washington.
