Grigor Dimitrov could play Juan Martin del Portro in the second round of Miami Open which starts this week. The seeded players have byes and will start directly from the second round of the main draw. Ex No 4 Del Potro will play Vasek Pospisil of Canada in the opening round. The Argentinian Juan Martin del Potro won the two matches played against Dimitrov so far: in Rotterdam and Paris in 2013.
This is the 5th participation of Dimitrov at Miami Open. In his debut in 2011 Dimitrov started from the qualifications and lost in the first round of the main draw. In 2012 he beat then No 7 Berdych in the third round but lost to then No 9 Tipsarevic in the fourth round. In 2013 Dimitrov lost to Andy Murray in the third round. In the last year's edition Kei Nishikori stopped Dimitrov in the third round.
