Grigor Dimitrov defeated Donald Young of USA in the second round of the ATP 250 tournament in Winston Salem, NC, USA. Dimitrov took the first set 6-4 against the No 85 American. Young took the second set 6-2. In the third set Dimitrov missed to close he match when serving with score 5-4 and ultimately the set and the match were decided by tie-break. After 2 hours and 3 minutes Grigor Dimitrov reached the victory with a result of 6-4 2-6 7-6(2).
Dimitrov earned 8410 USD of the prize money for reaching this phase of the tournament and 20 ranking points. In order not to lose ranking position Dimitrov has to defend the 80 points that he won last year for the title of the ATP Challenger in Geneva.
In the third round Dimitrov will play the winner of the match of Alexanr Dolgopolov of Ukraine, Seed 3, ATP rank 22, and Carlos Berlocq of Argentina, 69, which is to be played later today.
