Grigor Dimitrov defeated in straight set the representative of Turkey Marsel Ilhan 6-3 7-5 in the first round of the Cininnati Masters. Dimitrov entered the tournament with wild card by the organizers. This is 3rd ATP Masters main draw for Grigor and he scored his first win. Dimitrov reached 91% of won points on first service and in the same time Ilhan could not reach any break point. For his win Dimitrov gained 17'000 USD of the prize money and 45 ranking points. He has to defend 27 points from the ITF Futures title in Spain last year so he will add 18 points only to his balance.
In the second round Grigor Dimitrov will play ATP Rank No 6 David Ferrer from Spain, Seed 5 of the tournament. Ferrer was injured and did not play in the past month.
