Grigor Dimitrov started with a convincing win the qualifications of the $1.6 million ATP tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, by defeated the the local player Mahmoud-Nader Al Baloushi with a score of 6-0 6-3 in 52 minutes. For this win Grigor gained 10 ATP ranking points and $1280 of the prize money.
In the second round Dimitrov will play the representative of South Africa wild card holder Rik de Voest, 30 years old, current ATP rank 162, best rank 110.
