Grigor Dimitrov started powerfully the third round match of ATP Masters in Indian Wells, California, against world No 1 Novak Djokovic and reached 5-2 lead to serve for the first set. Dimitrov made 4 double faults which unsettled him. Djokovic took advantage of the situation and brought the set to tiebreak. Djokovic won the tiebreak comfortably. Then in the second set the Serbian faced no serious defense and took the set 6-1. So with score of 7-6(4) 6-1 Novak Djokovic won the match.
Dimitrov left the single tournament with $26K of the prize money and 45 ranking points. Depending on the further performance of Marcos Baghdatis and Kevin Andersen Dimitrov might keep his current 31st position in the ranking.
The next tournament of Grigor is the Masters in Miami from 20 March. Depending on his new rank he could again be among the seed players. Last year the young Bulgarian reached 4th round and has to defend 90 ranking points.
