Grigor Dimitrov advanced to the second round of the qualification of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year in Melbourne. The Bulgarian won with a convincing score of 6-1 6-1 the Italian Matteo Viola. Dimitrov will add 8 ATP ranking points to his balance.
In the second round on Friday Dimitrov will play the 23-years-old Moroccan Reda El Amrani, ATP rank 218. Back in 2009 Dimitrov defeated El Amrani at the qualifications of the ATP Challenger in Cremona with a score of 3-6 6-2 6-4.
